Carteret County, North Carolina is requesting proposals from qualified elevator contractors to provide preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, emergency response, and related services for County-owned elevator and wheelchair lift equipment. The equipment includes four Thyssen Krupp passenger elevators located at the Detention Center, Department of Social Services, and Courthouse Complex, and one Chenery Co. wheelchair lift at the Courthouse Complex. The successful contractor will provide full-service maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, code compliant, and operational in accordance with North Carolina regulations and ASME standards. Services include annual inspections, Category 1 and Category 5 testing, fire service testing, emergency power testing, safety device testing, and maintenance control program documentation. The contractor must respond to emergencies 24/7 with a maximum two-hour response time for entrapment and safety hazards, and routine service calls by the next business day. The contract term is one year beginning as early as October 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027, with five one-year renewal options. Proposals are due September 23, 2026.
