Description
The City of Redding is seeking a qualified vendor to provide portable fire extinguisher services for City-owned buildings and vehicles. The scope includes annual maintenance, six-year internal service and inspection, hydrostatic testing, external inspection, recharging, repairs, replacement extinguishers, installation brackets and hardware, loaner extinguishers, callback and emergency services, and fire extinguisher training for City employees. Automatic fire suppression systems and fire hose inspections are excluded. Services must comply with current NFPA 10, ANSI/UL 77, ANSI/UL 299, California State Fire Marshal, OSHA, California Fire Code, Title 19, and other applicable requirements. The vendor must be licensed and certified by the California Office of the State Fire Marshal, and technicians must hold the required certifications; a Type F license is required for servicing Halon extinguishers. The initial contract term is one year from award through October 31, 2027, with four possible one-year extensions through October 31, 2031. The City will award to the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive evaluated total, subject to available budgeted funds.
