Description
The project includes selective demolition and replacement of exterior windows with insulated aluminum window systems, repairs to existing wood framing and trim and adjacent plaster, and exterior painting. Work also includes replacement of limited areas of existing roofing with mechanically fastened EPDM roofing, associated flashing and edge metal, reconstruction of the main entry concrete stoop and adjacent sidewalk, and repair and refinishing of the existing wood entry doors and frames. The building will remain occupied during construction, requiring coordination with the owner and protection of occupants, museum contents, and public access. Bids must include a completed bid form and required affidavits and forms, a contractor’s license and copies of applicable subcontractor licenses, at least three similar-project references completed within the past five years, a W-9, and a bid bond. The bid bond is 5% of the bid; its original must reach the City before award. Performance and labor and material payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract sum, are required of the successful bidder before work begins.
