Description
The City seeks a contractor to remove sediment, debris, and other foreign material from the auxiliary lake intake structure and the river side of the intake. The contractor must provide the labor, equipment, and materials needed to contain, transport, and properly dispose of the removed material in accordance with applicable requirements. Sediment containment and discharge methods require approval before work begins; the solicitation describes sediment depths of approximately 6–8 feet in the intake and 1–2 feet on the Level 2 platform, with an oily appearance and mud/clay-like consistency. The work also includes inspecting submerged areas, the river side of the intake screen, and an approximately 50-foot intake pipe extending into the river. The contractor must promptly report issues requiring immediate review and provide a DVD video and a written report with color photographs assessing the intake’s major components. Access to the intake requires a boat.
