The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is offering the Science Track Award for Research Transition (START) Program (R03) to support early career investigators in drug abuse research. This award provides funding for research projects that will help investigators generate preliminary data to support a future R01 application. The program is designed to facilitate the transition of investigators from postdoctoral training to independent research careers. The award is for a project period of up to two years and provides up to $100,000 in direct costs per year. Applications are due October 16, 2026.
