Description
Shaw Air Force Base is seeking a contractor to engineer, furnish, install, and test 48-strand, single-mode fiber optic cable between four building routes: B01109 to B00216, B00710, B01129, and B01601. The work includes furnishing and installing fiber optic distribution panels, a new rack at Building B01109, associated cable-support hardware, duct sealing, cable slack and maintenance loops, and other materials required for a firm-fixed-price installation. Contractors must verify field conditions and account for actual duct lengths, manhole spacing, cable slack, and any missing or inadequate racking in their pricing; the Government will not provide equitable adjustments for such variations. The contractor must coordinate required base documents and permits, including digging, confined-space, and airfield-driving requirements. The updated solicitation includes contractor questions and answers and a revised wage determination. The Government prefers water- and gas-blocking foam for duct sealing, subject to applicable performance standards.
