Description
The Wilmette Park District is soliciting sealed bids for relocation of an existing fire hydrant and installation of approximately 220 feet of six-inch ductile iron fire line. The work includes saw-cutting a four-foot-wide section of an asphalt parking lot, excavating approximately six feet, connecting to an existing eight-inch main, installing a new hydrant auxiliary valve, stone bedding, compactable backfill, off-site disposal of spoils, and patching and sealing the work area. The building's ComEd power feed must remain continuously energized during construction, and work must be performed during regular business hours while maintaining public access. Bidders must submit the provided bid proposal, product catalogs and warranty information for proposed materials, written exceptions or deviations, the anticipated installation duration and completion date, and three references for similar work completed within the past three years. A five-year plumbing-industry experience requirement applies. The bid must include a five-percent bid bond or cashier's check; performance and labor-and-material payment bonds, or an alternative irrevocable letter of credit, are required after award if the contract exceeds $50,000. The work carries a one-year workmanship and materials warranty.
