Description
The City of Belfast is seeking bids for the supply of road salt for its winter road maintenance operations. The city requires between 2,500 and 2,800 tons of salt, to be delivered as needed to the Public Works Garage located at 25 Barn Way, off Crocker Road in Belfast. The salt must be at least 95% pure, with specific sieve size requirements: 100% passing a 1/2" sieve and 0% to 15% passing the #30 sieve. Moisture content should be below 0.5%; any salt with moisture content above 2.5% may be rejected unless it is an emergency situation. Bids should exclude taxes, as the City of Belfast is tax-exempt.
