Description
The project requires a single prime contractor to upgrade fire and life-safety systems in an operational recycling center. Work includes a lowered suspended ceiling and draft barriers in the plastics storage area; a dedicated NFPA 13 dry-pipe sprinkler zone for Group A plastics storage up to 15 feet high; replacement of existing 4-inch sprinkler mains with 6-inch mains; new and modified sprinkler risers; replacement of the backflow preventer and air compressor; and associated testing, inspection, commissioning, and acceptance activities. The contractor must also replace and reconfigure the fire alarm control system, install associated detection, monitoring, and notification components, provide electrical wiring and new industrial LED lighting, perform floor preparation and striping, patch and paint affected surfaces, and restore existing conditions. The bid includes lump-sum and unit-price work plus an optional alternate for after-hours work. Bidders must submit a bid form, bid security, subcontractor and supplier lists, project references, licensing or authorization documentation, and a qualifications statement. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and required insurance documentation after award.
