Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking services for the repair and replacement of existing steam-to-domestic water heater systems located at the Temple VA facility. The scope of work includes demolition, piping modifications, insulation, controls, electrical disconnections and reconnections, startup, commissioning, proper disposal of removed equipment, and site restoration. All work must comply with VA standards, federal, state, and local codes, and manufacturer requirements. The contractor must obtain all necessary permits, including hot work permits. Press fit fittings are not permitted; only soldered and sweated connections are allowed for copper piping. The contractor is responsible for all measurements, and any provided drawings are for reference only. All system shutdowns must be pre-approved by the COR or VA representative. The contractor must also comply with VA Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) requirements. The period of performance is 120 days, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CDT. Field service engineers must be OEM-trained and provide only OEM-manufactured replacement parts.
