Description
The Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) is soliciting proposals for weekly transportation services for residential students and chaperones. These services will include transportation from TSBVI to various locations across Texas on Thursdays or Fridays and returning on Sundays or Mondays, as scheduled throughout the academic year. The primary location of services is TSBVI at 1100 West 45th Street, Austin, TX 78756, with secondary locations specified in the price sheets. The solicitation requires specific bus capacities and features, including a wheelchair lift for the Dallas route. Contractors must have at least three years of experience providing transportation services, employ drivers with a Texas commercial driver's license with passenger endorsements, and provide fleet buses no older than six years. Experience with the visually impaired and multiple disability community is preferred. The contract term is for one year with four one-year renewal options.
