Description
The City of Hephzibah, Georgia, is soliciting sealed bids for one general contract to improve its existing water pollution control plant. The scope includes furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor for a bar screen and structure; a wastewater treatment system with electrical room and blowers; a chlorine contact chamber; earth excavation, backfilling, grading, concrete structures, piping, electrical and mechanical work, painting, grassing, erosion control, and associated appurtenances. Bidders must hold a State of Georgia Utility Contractor License and employ a state Utility Manager certificate holder to oversee the work. The successful bidder must complete substantial completion within 365 consecutive calendar days and final completion within 395 days. A proposal form and bid bond of at least 5% of the lump-sum bid are required; the awarded contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount.
