Description
The State of New Jersey, through the Division of Property Management and Construction, is soliciting a single prime contractor for the demolition of five existing horse-barn structures and associated site improvements. Work includes removal and disposal of buildings, foundations, retaining walls, fences, asphalt pavement, debris, and existing utilities; backfilling and grading; soil erosion and sediment control; seeding and mulching; and restoration of disturbed areas. The project also includes asbestos abatement and lead-safe demolition practices, with identified asbestos-containing transite panels and debris, floor tile, window glazing, stucco, roofing debris, heat-shield panels, and ceiling panels. Contractors must address hazardous-materials handling, testing, disposal, and regulatory notifications. The performance period is 60 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Demolition activities must occur only from September 1 through March 31, although hazardous-materials abatement and site restoration are not subject to that seasonal restriction. The apparent low bidder must attend a post-bid meeting, and the contractor must provide required schedules, permits, inspections, bonds, insurance, waste documentation, and closeout materials during performance.
