Description
The State of New Jersey, through the Division of Property Management and Construction, is soliciting a single lump-sum contractor for generator replacement work at four New Jersey Department of Transportation facilities in Glassboro, Carneys Point, Cherry Hill, and Manahawkin. The scope includes furnishing and installing generator systems, associated electrical and plumbing work, natural-gas and diesel-generator work, transfer switches, site clearing, excavation and backfill, concrete, asphalt paving, utility coordination, testing, commissioning, and restoration. Work at all four sites must proceed concurrently, and the contractor must include a $20,000 utility-fee allowance for direct utility-company costs without markup. Bidders must hold the required DPMC classification or name classified subcontractors for plumbing and electrical work. The project requires attendance and sign-in at all four mandatory site visits on September 25, 2026; only bidders attending all visits may submit a valid bid. A bid bond of at least 50% of the total bid is required with the electronic proposal, and performance and payment bonds of 100% each are required from the successful bidder. The project duration is 210 calendar days. Bulletin A also identifies environmental conditions at the Cherry Hill site, including asbestos-containing expansion caulk, lead-based paint, and PCB-contaminated material, which may require appropriate handling during the work.
