Description
The University of Southern Mississippi is soliciting bids to remove existing reclosers and appurtenances, install owner-furnished 15 kV vacuum circuit breakers and appurtenances, and install related facilities at the university substation. Bidders must submit duplicate copies on the bid form included in the specifications, along with a bid bond or certified check for at least 5% of the base bid. Successful bidders must provide performance and labor-and-material bonds equal to 100% of the contract sum. The bid package must include the contractor's Certificate of Responsibility, or a statement that the bid does not exceed $50,000, and the contractor's Certificate of Responsibility and license numbers must appear on the sealed bid envelope unless the $50,000 statement applies. Electronic submission is permitted through the Mississippi procurement portal; sealed physical bids are also accepted. The bid documents must be purchased through the designated planroom, and nonresident contractors must provide a copy of their state's current law concerning treatment of nonresident contractors.
