Description
The University of Southern Mississippi is soliciting bids for a complete, turnkey low-background high-purity germanium (HPGe) well-detector gamma spectrometry system for installation in a university research laboratory. The system must support low-level measurement of radionuclides in small sediment, particulate, filter, and water-column samples across an approximate 40 keV to 2,000 keV energy range. The base system must include a well-geometry HPGe detector, vertical cryostat and liquid-nitrogen dewar, integrated digital multichannel analyzer and detector bias supply, a minimum four-inch low-background lead shield with graded liner, gamma spectroscopy software with computational efficiency calibration, licensing, documentation, factory characterization, and technical support. Bidders must provide itemized pricing, technical compliance information, descriptive literature, manufacturer and model details, warranty information, delivery and lead-time information, and a deviation table. Optional separately priced items include on-site installation and acceptance verification, operator training, service/support, and extended warranty coverage. Final acceptance and payment depend on demonstrated compliance after installation.
