Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Waste Management, requires a contractor to staff and operate a Recycling Hotline serving callers throughout Pennsylvania. The service must provide current information and referrals concerning municipal waste recycling, household hazardous waste, electronics recycling, waste tires and tire collection, organics and wasted food, safe battery recycling and disposal, and litter prevention. The contractor must staff the hotline Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., handle approximately 35 calls per week, return messages received outside staffed hours on the next working day, maintain and verify program information, distribute requested materials by mail, email, or text within 48 hours, maintain a Microsoft Office-compatible caller database, and submit weekly activity summaries plus annual summaries. Staffing must include supervisory/administrative support and personnel with specified Pennsylvania recycling, waste-management, public-information, and related technical experience. The contract is for services beginning July 1, 2026, or upon execution, whichever is later, through June 30, 2027, with up to four additional one-year renewals.
