Description
Johnston County Public Schools is soliciting proposals for a Metro-Ethernet wide area network serving all district buildings and the data center head end. The initial requirements include 10 Gbps service at schools and network infrastructure facilities, plus two 20 Gbps circuits at the data center head end, with potential upgrades to 25 Gbps at schools and two 50 Gbps head-end circuits. The scope includes installation, initial configuration, service activation, network resiliency, new-location build-outs, and the ability to add or remove locations during the contract term. The proposed services must be fully operational by July 1, 2027, and providers must describe implementation, bandwidth upgrades, pricing, reliability, restoration expectations, and support for future facilities. Providers using existing fiber must submit infrastructure, fiber integrity, certification, monitoring, outage, and capacity documentation. The proposal must include at least three comparable K-12 school district references from the past five years. Only E-rate-eligible service providers offering Service Provider Billing will be considered.
