Description
Harris County is soliciting a contractor for the turnkey modernization of one hydraulic elevator serving two floors at Annex 9 Courthouse. The work includes removal of existing equipment; installation of a non-proprietary hydraulic power unit, controller, hall fixtures, car operating panel, door protection devices, cab interior and lighting, traveling cable, emergency communication and lowering systems, and a pit flood alarm; and integration with applicable emergency power and safety systems. The contractor must provide site protection, barricades, material staging, testing and commissioning, code-mandated inspections, as-built drawings, equipment manuals and warranties, performance documentation, and a laptop and software for remote diagnostics. The project has an estimated 180-calendar-day completion timeline and includes a minimum one-year warranty. The proposal must include technical, organizational, safety, pricing, and qualification information, including similar-project experience, safety records, current workload, subcontractor information, bonding capacity, and professional liability information. A 5% bid bond or cashier's check is required with the proposal, and the selected contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. The project is subject to prevailing-wage, insurance, workers' compensation, minimum-wage, safety, and M/WBE-related requirements.
