The University District Community Development Association is expanding its roster of qualified contractors for substantial repairs to 18 single-family, owner-occupied homes. Eligible work may receive up to $35,000 per home and must bring each residence into compliance with applicable local building codes while ensuring that major building systems have at least five years of remaining economic life after construction. After a homeowner selects a contractor, the Rehabilitation Construction Analyst will issue a detailed scope of work. Contractors will then submit bids, with contracts awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after at least three competitive bids are received. Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises and Veteran-Owned Businesses are encouraged to apply; the solicitation states a total MWBE goal of 41 percent.
