Description
The City of Irvine is soliciting a contractor to perform civil improvements associated with the future Championship Bridge at Irvine Great Park. The scope includes removal and relocation of existing storm drainage, irrigation, and site electrical systems; demolition of existing site improvements; hauling and placement of approximately 4,500 cubic yards of clean soil from a City-supplied stockpile for a new embankment; and modifications to Great Park Parking Lot 5. Work also includes new storm drain piping and structures, electrical conduits and pull boxes, utility trenching, curbs, sidewalks, asphalt paving, parking striping, tree removal, sign and bollard salvage, and irrigation rerouting. The solicitation requires a Class A prime contractor license, with a Class C-10 license for specialty lighting work. The project is subject to a Community Workforce Agreement with a 30% local employment goal, prevailing-wage requirements, and specified labor and union-hall procedures. Bidders must submit a 10% bid bond; the awarded contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. The estimated construction cost is $663,000, and the stated completion period is 100 working days from the Notice to Proceed.
