Description
The City of San Luis is soliciting sealed bids for construction of an expansion to the existing Well Site 6 booster pump station. The work includes a new prefabricated variable-frequency-drive pumping system with four approximately 60-horsepower vertical multistage pumps, 18-inch suction and discharge headers, piping, valves, fittings, flow metering, pressure instrumentation, concrete equipment pads, shade canopies, and site restoration. The contractor must integrate the new system with existing water, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and SCADA systems while maintaining continuity of water service during construction. Major electrical work includes a new utility transformer, 2,000-amp switchboard with integral automatic transfer switch, approximately 1,500-kilowatt standby diesel generator, conduit and wiring, grounding, harmonic mitigation, testing, startup, commissioning, and related controls. The bid schedule contains 20 line items, including mobilization, survey and layout, permitting, and a 10% contingency. The project requires a 10% bid security, an Arizona Class A contractor's license, performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price after award, and specified insurance coverage. Final completion is required within 365 calendar days after the notice to proceed.
