Description
This project involves the construction of two new potable water wells (1R and 5R) at Ironwood State Prison in Blythe, California, to replace two aging, out-of-service wells. The new wells will be equipped and connected to the existing raw water transmission line that conveys water to the on-site water treatment plant. Electrical improvements include replacing existing motor control centers and transformers, and installing new conduit from the new well sites to the water treatment plant control center. The scope also includes the installation of new pumps, canopies, motors, piping, valves, and electrical and communication connections to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The prime contractor must possess a valid Class "A - General Engineering" Contractor license from the California Contractors State License Board. Specialty subcontractors may hold appropriate licenses for well drilling (C-57) and electrical work (C-10). A mandatory pre-bid conference and site inspection is scheduled for July 14, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Ironwood State Prison, 19005 Wiley's Well Road, Blythe, CA 92225. All participants must have a valid Picture ID (Driver's License) and adhere to strict security procedures, including not wearing blue outer clothing. Bids will not be considered from bidders who fail to attend this mandatory conference and site inspection. The estimated project cost is approximately $7,350,900.00.
