Description
The City of Columbia is soliciting bids for annual maintenance and cleaning of wet wells across its sanitary sewer collection system. This critical service involves removing accumulated grease, grit, debris, and sediment from wet wells to ensure efficient wastewater conveyance, maintain pump performance, and prevent operational disruptions. The scope of work includes cleaning various wet wells at the Metro Wastewater Treatment Plant, including Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) trains and chlorine contact basins, as well as specific lift stations located at Mill Creek, Broad River, and North Columbia. The contract requires cleaning each DAF and lift station twice annually, and each primary influent channel and chlorine contact basin once annually. Additional services such as confined space entry, dewatering box rental, and bypass pumping may also be required. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of direct experience in wet well cleaning and provide MACP-certified technicians with a minimum of five years of experience. The contract duration is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
