Description
The City of Coachella is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified law firms or individual attorneys licensed to practice law in the State of California to provide comprehensive, full-service City Attorney legal services. The City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the City Council, City Manager, all City departments, boards, commissions, and committees. The selected firm or attorney will be responsible for a broad range of municipal legal services, including general legal counsel and advisory services, attendance at City Council and committee meetings, drafting and reviewing legal documents, litigation and legal representation, municipal code and ordinance maintenance, land use, planning, and zoning support, public finance and procurement advice, employment and labor law counsel, ethics and conflict of interest guidance, and legal training for City staff and officials. The provider will designate a primary attorney to serve as the City Attorney, who must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar and have demonstrated experience in municipal law. The provider must also maintain specific insurance coverages, including General Liability, Automobile Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Employer's Liability.
