Description
The Allen County Engineer is selecting an engineering firm through a quality-based selection process to provide construction inspection and administration services for replacement of the Main Street Bridge over Riley Creek in the Village of Bluffton, Ohio. The existing reinforced concrete arch bridge will be replaced with an 80-foot single-span composite prestressed concrete box-beam superstructure on reinforced-concrete wall abutments supported by spread footings on bedrock. Sidewalks with decorative concrete parapets will be included, while approach roadway work will be performed under a separate project. The consultant must meet prequalification requirements for Project Inspector 1, Project Inspector 2, Project Structure Inspector, Soils and Aggregate Inspector, Construction Engineer Level 1, and Construction Management Firm. Interested firms must submit a Letter of Interest and a general qualifications statement; the Letter of Interest is limited to four single-sided pages, excluding a one-page cover letter. The prime consultant's 2026 General Qualification Statement must be on file or submitted with the response. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2027 and last up to 120 days.
