Description
The Peoria Park District is seeking a qualified law firm to serve as its primary Corporate Counsel and strategic legal partner. Services include advice to the Board of Trustees, Executive Director, leadership team, and staff; governance and parliamentary support; preparation and review of ordinances, resolutions, policies, contracts, procurement matters, leases, licenses, easements, real estate transactions, intergovernmental agreements, and other operational matters; and assistance with compliance under Illinois public-body laws, including the Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act. The selected firm is also expected to advise on litigation strategy and risk, coordinate specialized counsel, support employment and labor matters as needed, provide legal updates and organizational training, and help the District evaluate the future allocation and delivery of legal services. Proposals must include the requested narrative approach, firm and team qualifications, relevant public-sector experience, at least three Illinois public-sector references, conflicts disclosure, fee and staffing information, and the required certifications, ownership, equal employment opportunity, workforce, tax, insurance, and signature materials.
