Description
The Army Contracting Command–Rock Island Arsenal is soliciting one new horizontal, front-loading, cold-wall vacuum furnace cell for heat treatment of 3D printer build plates. The system must include supporting equipment such as a cooling and quenching package, 1,000-pound electric-lift loader, inert-gas backfill reservoir, temperature-uniformity survey fixture, maintenance spare-parts kit, vacuum pumps, controls, and associated safety and utility interfaces. The furnace must provide a minimum 18-by-24-by-18-inch work zone, support a 1,000-pound hearth load, operate to at least 2,400°F, meet specified temperature-uniformity and vacuum requirements, and comply with applicable AMS 2750 requirements. The contractor is responsible for delivery, off-loading or placement, complete installation and start-up, testing and calibration, documentation, operator and maintenance training, and service support. Training is required for five operators and two maintenance personnel at the installation. The proposal must identify the manufacturer, model, options, installation, freight, and training; provide a paragraph-by-paragraph compliance statement using the purchase description; and include at least a one-year parts-and-labor warranty beginning at final acceptance. Award is expected to be a single firm-fixed-price contract using a lowest-price-technically-acceptable evaluation, subject to availability of funds.
