Description
Natural Resources Canada requires detailed engineering design and a timeline for a pilot-scale multi-mode arc furnace, including its power supply and control systems, continuous feeding system, primary off-gas treatment system, and ancillary equipment. The requirement includes options for the contractor to fabricate, deliver, commission, and install the furnace at the CanmetMATERIALS Hamilton laboratory, as well as options for spare parts and additional technical support. The engineering design and delivery must be completed by March 1, 2027. The initial contract period runs from award through March 31, 2028; if the furnace fabrication option is exercised, the delivery, commissioning, and installation deadline is March 1, 2029, and the contract may extend through March 31, 2031. Award is based on the highest combined rating of technical merit and price.
