Description
The U.S. Army intends to establish a sole-source, open-market Basic Ordering Agreement with Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC for support of proprietary Zeiss coordinate-measuring machines and Surfcom metrology systems. The proposed five-year framework, including a potential six-month FAR 52.217-8 extension, has an estimated capacity of $9,000,000. Requirements may include proprietary CALYPSO and Surfcom MAP software upgrades, bug fixes, CAD-driver updates, cybersecurity patches, annual OEM-certified physical calibration with updates to the Zeiss Computer Aided Accuracy volumetric error-compensation matrix, emergency repairs by factory-certified technicians, new OEM replacement parts, and optional Zeiss Care Plus extended hardware warranties. The notice is a sole-source notice of intent rather than an RFP or RFQ; interested sources must submit a capability statement demonstrating the required proprietary authorization and technical capability. Capability statements are limited to five pages.
