Description
The Port of Houston Authority is soliciting proposals for a two-year contract to repair or replace AC and DC motors, generators, and alternators serving Barbours Cut Terminal, Bayport Container Terminal, and Turning Basin Terminal. The scope includes basic overhauls, stator rewinding, replacement parts, pickup and delivery, disassembly, cleaning, machining, bearing and seal replacement, painting, full static and dynamic testing, VPI insulation services, vibration, HI-POT, surge, balancing, and performance testing. Equipment ranges from 10 HP to 1,000 HP, and the contractor must be able to repair or recondition up to ten units simultaneously. The contractor must provide technical support, written repair estimates before work begins, documented inspection and repair records, online access to designated Port personnel, weekly repair-cycle reports, monthly inventory reports, and humidity-controlled off-site storage with monthly shaft rotation and quarterly insulation verification. Work must comply with ANSI/EASA recommended practices. Proposers must provide at least five current Houston metropolitan-area customer references involving comparable motor, generator, and alternator repair services performed for a minimum of five years. The solicitation is not divisible, and all price exhibit items must be completed.
