Description
The City of Lansing is soliciting a lump-sum bid for demolition and complete removal of the property at 108 West Barnes Avenue. The scope includes removal of the building, basement walls and foundations, accessory structures, driveway and garage concrete pads, trash, and other on-site materials; utility disconnection and sewer and water line capping; required permits; protection of adjacent property and public infrastructure; and disposal at an approved landfill. The contractor must account for landfill, utility, permit, hazardous-material handling, erosion-control, engineered-fill, and related costs. After demolition, the contractor must fill the lot to adjacent existing grades, provide topsoil, grading, seeding, and mulch, and correct deficient growth or site conditions after a 30-day inspection. The contractor must be licensed for City of Lansing demolition work, provide the required City of Lansing building wrecker and Michigan residential builder or residential maintenance and alteration contractor licensure, submit proof of insurance, and complete the work within 30 days after issuance of the purchase order. The solicitation states that no performance bond or bid guarantee is required in the proposal form, although the general conditions separately require 100% performance and payment bonds; this apparent conflict should be clarified before bidding.
