Description
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is soliciting bids for construction to rehabilitate the fire suppression water supply and fire pump facilities at the Hiram Clarke Bus Operating Facility. The work includes demolition of the existing break tank and foundation; construction of a new approximately 25,000-gallon break tank and concrete masonry unit fire pump building; foundations, water lines, valves, controls, drainage, electrical rerouting, and related site work; and dismantling and relocation of the existing fire pump, jockey pumps, and control panels. The contractor must provide permitting, testing, commissioning, training, project management, temporary power and services, fire watch during system impairments, shutdown coordination, and licensed fire-protection personnel, including a Texas-licensed Responsible Managing Employee—General for fire-suppression plans and approvals. The solicitation includes a mandatory 35% Small Business Participation goal. Amendment 007 extends the bid and intent-to-bid deadline from October 14 to October 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. Amendment 006 revises the bid table and adds the METRO Fire Watch Guideline. Bids must be submitted electronically through the EUNA/Bonfire portal and by one original hardcopy delivered to the METRO Procurement Division.
