Description
Sweetwater County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 is soliciting bids for a general contract covering the purchase, handling, baling, crushing or other processing, transportation, and salvage of approximately 800 tons of stockpiled white goods and scrap metal at the Rock Springs Landfill. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and transport vehicles; clean the site after completion; and haul unsalvageable materials to the appropriate disposal pit. Payment to the District will be based on the bidder's unit price per ton and verified weights recorded on the District's scales. The work must be completed within 30 days after the start date or notice to proceed, as applicable, with salvage operations conducted during the landfill's normal hours. Bidders must have proven metal-salvage experience and may not subcontract, broker, or otherwise transfer the work in a manner that circumvents the stated self-performance requirement. A 5% bid security and a performance bond or approved equivalent equal to 100% of the estimated purchase price are required. The contractor must also provide specified workers' compensation, employer's liability, general liability, personal injury, and automobile liability coverage, naming the District as an additional insured where required.
