Lincoln County, Montana has received a petition to create the West Kootenai Rural Fire District under Montana Code Annotated Title 7, Chapter 33, Part 21. The proposed district would serve non-government parcels in the West Kootenai area currently served by the West Kootenai Fire Protection Company. A public hearing will be held on July 15, 2026 at the Eureka Annex to receive comments on the proposed district boundaries and related matters. Written comments may be submitted to the Lincoln County Clerk and Recorder.
