Description
The Town of North Andover is soliciting bids for a contractor to furnish, install, water, and maintain 20 nursery-grown street trees at designated downtown locations. The specified stock includes Black Tupelo, Crab Apple, Serviceberry, Yellowwood, and Sugar Maple, generally 1.5- to 2-inch caliper, with detailed requirements for root balls, condition, transport protection, planting, mulching, watering, and inspection. Plantings must be guaranteed for 12 months, with replacement required for trees that fail or are not representative of their species. The contract includes a one-year term from October 25, 2026, through October 15, 2027. Contractors must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and vehicles; comply with Massachusetts prevailing-wage requirements; demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience; be a certified arborist with at least five years of certification; and submit a list of similar municipal or state contracts performed during the past two years. The solicitation requires a 5% bid deposit or bond and, upon award, a payment bond equal to 50% of the first-year projected contract cost.
