Description
The City of Belvedere is soliciting bids for construction of the Artist's View Deck, a 16-foot-wide by 10-foot-6-inch-deep hillside viewing deck. The scope includes mobilization; traffic control and public notifications; erosion, sediment, and pollution prevention; selective removal and repair of an existing concrete retaining wall; cast-in-place concrete piers and embedded steel; structural steel fabrication, welding, coatings, and erection; treated wood framing and hardware; composite decking and fascia; guardrails and railing systems; an ADA detectable warning surface; pavement striping; inspections; cleanup; and closeout documentation. The engineer's estimate is $150,000. The project requires a valid contractor's license, Department of Industrial Relations registration, prevailing-wage compliance, insurance, and a bid bond of at least 10 percent of the base bid. The successful contractor must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds and a 10 percent maintenance bond. Work must be completed within 30 working days after commencement of the contract time allowance, and the contractor must perform at least 50 percent of the contract work with its own organization and workforce.
