Description
The project involves installing a 24-kW micro-combined heat and power (mCHP) system and two solar tracking photovoltaic arrays, each specified at 17.3 kW AC. Work includes connecting the mCHP to the building’s heating hot-water, propane, and electrical systems; installing the solar trackers, photovoltaic equipment, inverters, distributed-generation panel, metering, and related electrical interconnections; and integrating the new equipment with the building automation and controls system. Commissioning is required for the mCHP and photovoltaic systems. Alternate bid items cover a security fence with gates and an expanded concrete pad in the mechanical room. The contractor must provide the equipment and installation in accordance with the plans and specifications, including delegated geotechnical and structural design for the tracker foundations. The bid package requires a completed Contractor Bid Form and bid security: a 5% bid bond or certified/cashier’s check. Performance and payment bonds are required if the selected contract amount exceeds $125,000. The project includes specified substantial and final completion milestones, and the mCHP unit has an earlier substantial-completion milestone.
