Description
The Maine Department of Transportation seeks a contractor to build two segments totaling 10 miles of a 10-foot-wide paved shared-use trail along a former rail corridor. The work includes clearing, track removal, excavation, aggregate subbase and base, hot-mix asphalt paving, recreational crossings, pavement markings, signs, beacons, gates, fencing, bollards, erosion controls, and traffic management. The project also includes substantial bridge and drainage work: timber bridge decking and construction, structural steel and concrete, bearing installation, granite masonry repairs, reconstruction and repair of granite box culverts, culvert pipe installation, cofferdams, and streambed restoration. The contract requires the entire scope; bidders may not bid only on selected work items. The contract completion date is October 27, 2028.
