Description
Santa Cruz County is soliciting sealed electronic bids from licensed Class A contractors for replacement of the domestic water line serving Anna Jean Cummings County Park. The work includes site preparation; installation of approximately 925 linear feet of new 2-inch polyethylene water line; abandonment and capping of the existing line; connections to the existing park water system and utility infrastructure; valves and related appurtenances; trenching or approved horizontal directional drilling; limited concrete paving removal and replacement; testing and disinfection; erosion control; and restoration of disturbed areas. No tree removal is anticipated. Addendum No. 1 permits trenchless installation, excavation, or a combination of methods, and adds requirements for horizontal directional drilling, over-excavation, stabilization, and additional bedding/backfill. The project is a lump-sum contract with an engineer's estimate of $277,000 and a 75-calendar-working-day completion period. Bidders must submit the required bid forms and certifications, a 10% bid guarantee, and evidence of applicable licensing, insurance, and Department of Industrial Relations registration. The successful contractor must provide 100% payment and faithful performance bonds, certificates of insurance, and comply with prevailing-wage and Monterey Bay Area local-hire requirements.
