Description
The City of Cincinnati is soliciting electronic bids for the as-needed supply and delivery of powdered activated carbon for water treatment by the Greater Cincinnati Water Works. The estimated quantity is 100 tons over a 12-month period, although actual purchases will vary. Deliveries will generally be made in approximately 20-ton shipments, with the contractor furnishing and operating air-slide equipment for unloading into the City's slurry storage tanks. The product must meet specified fineness, moisture, density, iodine value, taste and odor removal, and potable-water approval requirements, including ANSI/NSF Standard 60 or 61 approval. Bidders must complete the required forms and pricing questionnaire, provide a one-pound sample in an airtight container with a certificate of analysis showing the iodine number before the bid deadline, and submit a notarized manufacturer approval affidavit or completed manufacturer certification. The City will evaluate cost effectiveness, price, compliance, delivery time, and ordering convenience. The initial contract period is February 1, 2027, through January 31, 2028, with two additional 12-month renewal periods available at the City's discretion.
