Description
The Defense Health Agency is soliciting a state-of-the-art anterior segment ophthalmic surgical system combining phacoemulsification and vitrectomy capabilities for cataract extraction, lens fragmentation, aspiration, and related anterior segment procedures. The system must provide advanced fluidics and intraocular-pressure control, longitudinal and non-longitudinal ultrasonic cutting, bipolar diathermy or coagulation, wireless foot and remote controls, high-definition or 4K video output, Ethernet and USB connectivity, secure hospital-network authentication, and specified electrical, safety, environmental, and ingress-protection features. The device must be FDA cleared for anterior segment ophthalmic surgery and phacoemulsification and comply with applicable IEC, ANSI/AAMI, ISO 13485, or current good manufacturing practice requirements. Required deliverables include the phacoemulsification console, display, wireless controls, transducer handpieces, power cables, reusable tool sets, calibration equipment, interface cabling, operator and technical manuals, and biomedical maintenance protocols. The contractor must provide on-site unpacking, assembly, technical verification, and clinical in-service training for surgeons, scrub technicians, and nursing personnel, along with a minimum one-year comprehensive warranty covering parts, labor, travel, and annual preventive maintenance.
