Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is conducting a sources-sought market research effort for optometrist services at Federal Prison Camp Montgomery. The anticipated requirement is for a single-award, firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/requirements-type contract or blanket purchase agreement covering one base year and four 12-month option years. Services are expected to consist of approximately one eight-hour day per week, or about 416 one-hour sessions per 12-month period, subject to institutional needs and mutually agreed scheduling. The optometrist will evaluate referred patients; perform eye examinations, tonometry, diagnosis, foreign-object removal, and related assessments; prescribe corrective lenses and frames; fit eyeglasses and adjust frames; provide written reports and treatment recommendations; and document encounters in the Bureau of Prisons' electronic medical record. The provider must hold an accredited optometry diploma, have at least five years of optometry experience, maintain an Alabama professional license, provide proof of qualifications, credentials, malpractice and medical indemnification insurance, and satisfy institutional security, orientation, health, privacy, and inmate-contact requirements.
