Description
The Louisiana Department of Education is accepting applications from organizations seeking approval as tutoring providers for the Steve Carter Tutoring Initiative. Approved providers will deliver after-school literacy and mathematics tutoring to eligible public school students in kindergarten through grade 12, either in person or virtually, with no more than four students per session. Providers must support foundational literacy and numeracy, align instruction with the science of reading and accelerating-learning approaches, coordinate with families and schools, monitor student progress and outcomes, and upload invoices through the program portal for reimbursement. Applicants must describe their organization, experience, instructional approach, curricula and technology, data-management and progress-monitoring systems, tutor qualifications and background-check process, tutor training and supervision, family and school engagement plans, and support for English learners and students with disabilities. Applications must include references, pricing and cancellation/no-show policies, grade-level scope and sequences, detailed literacy and/or math lesson plans with facilitation notes and instructional materials, and a signed certification. Rates may not exceed $60 per hour for one-to-one tutoring or $40 per hour per student for two-to-four-student sessions; group size may not exceed four students.
