The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is soliciting bids for the removal of existing LVT flooring and the installation of new rolled vinyl flooring in Unit 1, Building 515 at the Rio Grande State Center, located at 1401 S Rangerville Rd, Harlingen, TX 78552. The scope of work includes mechanically or manually prying up all existing LVT flooring, hauling off-site and disposing of all debris in accordance with local regulations. The contractor will also be responsible for surface preparation, including scraping or grinding the substrate to remove old adhesive, paint, or contaminants, and repairing minor depressions and cracks. Baseboards will need to be carefully removed and new baseboards supplied and installed. The installation of rolled vinyl will involve applying manufacturer-approved adhesive and ensuring all seams are heat-welded or chemically bonded. A 100lb roller will be used across the entire floor to ensure 100% adhesive transfer and remove air pockets. Exclusions from the scope include testing or abatement of asbestos-containing materials and structural repairs such as replacing damaged subflooring or joists. The contract term is from the Date of Award until August 31, 2026, with no renewals.
