Description
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is requesting proposals for coastal construction services to protect and enhance the rookery island habitat within the Laguna Vista Spoil Island, located in the Lower Laguna Madre, Cameron County, Texas. The project involves approximately 1,475 linear feet of rubble mound structure, 130 linear feet of erosion control features, and 7,270 cubic yards of sand fill. The overall goal is to protect and enhance the existing rookery island habitat. Construction will be funded through Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) and the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA). The GLO is collaborating with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Audubon Society on this project.
