Description

The City of Bridgeport is soliciting bids for comprehensive renovations at the Prospect House, located at 392 Prospect Street. This project involves upgrades across all four floors of the building, which serves as the Prospect Shelter on the first two floors and New Prospects on the third and fourth floors. The renovations aim to improve safety, energy efficiency, and the overall environment. Key areas of work include: * **Flooring:** Preparation and installation of new luxury vinyl flooring in stairwells, basement landings, bedrooms, kitchens, offices, hallways, and laundry rooms. This includes removal of existing quarter round and shoe molding, patching, and ensuring a smooth, level finish. * **Kitchens:** Installation of fire-rated panel wall covering in the first-floor main kitchen and replacement of cabinets, countertops, and backsplash in the third-floor kitchen. * **Bathrooms:** Complete demolition and replacement of existing bathroom tub and shower units in approximately 24 bathrooms across the 3rd and 4th floors. This includes plumbing upgrades, installation of new shower bases and wall kits, toilets, sinks, faucets, and lighting. * **Lighting:** Replacement of existing lighting fixtures throughout the building with new 2'x4' LED lights, including recessed and flush-mount units. * **Stair Treads:** Removal and replacement of existing stair treads with new heavy-commercial grade rubber stair treads with grit tape inserts. Bidders must be licensed in Connecticut, and all employees must be properly certified and qualified. A bid bond or certified check of 10% is required for bids of $100,000 or more, and payment and performance bonds of 100% are required for contracts of $100,000 or more. Davis-Bacon wage rates apply.
