Description
The City of Sumter is seeking bids for demolition services for five properties located at 204 Clement St., 278 W. Williams St., 815 W. Bartlette St., 212 S. Salem Ave., and 14 Gates St. The project involves the complete demolition and removal of structures, foundations, accessory buildings, porches, fences, steps, chimneys, concrete slabs, driveways, and all associated trash and debris. Environmental hazards have been abated, and environmental documents will be provided to the selected contractor. The scope includes removal of undergrowth, weeds, and trees (except for large, old-growth trees unless approved otherwise), grading for proper drainage, and ensuring the lot is left in a condition suitable for ground cover. Contractors must have a current Sumter County or City Business License, Workman's Compensation, and a Certificate of Insurance with the City of Sumter listed as an Additional Insured. A building permit must be obtained prior to starting work. All work must be completed within 60 days of the contract award. Landfill disposal fees are the responsibility of the contractor, and recycling of metal, concrete, and brick materials is encouraged.
