Description
Wharton-Smith, Inc., together with Messam Construction and Kirchman Construction Co., is soliciting proposals from prequalified subcontractors for GMP 2, Divisions 26, 27, and 28, covering electrical, communications, and electronic safety and security systems for the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Facility Renewal and Replacement project. The work includes Sequences 1 through 4 of a project involving approximately 42,460 renovated square feet, 66,336 new conditioned and unconditioned square feet, and 14.05 acres. Work will occur on an occupied campus, with anticipated mobilization in November 2026 and final completion in March 2030. Bids must use the required Form of Proposal (Bid Form) and will be accepted only from prequalified firms. Payment and performance bonds are required for building-envelope scopes and subcontracts valued at $100,000 or more. Small and local subcontractors registered with Palm Beach County's EBO office are encouraged to participate, with an EBO goal of 20%.
