Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice / Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for an automated dose packager. The purpose is to purchase, deliver, and install a unit dose medication packager equivalent to the Medical Packaging Auto Print Plus. This equipment is intended to improve pharmacy efficiency by automating the packaging of oral solid medications, with a target speed of 50-80 pouches per minute. The system should include integrated barcode printing, support specific pouch lengths, use FDA-registered packaging materials, and have an English interface with an energy-saving mode. The unit must be compact (no larger than 25"L x 11"W x 11"H) and weigh less than 55 lbs. The VA is seeking brand-name-or-equal solutions and requires vendors to demonstrate how their offerings meet these salient characteristics. Vendors must also confirm they are an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller, and provide relevant authorization documentation. Responses should include capabilities statements, feedback on requirements, business size status, and information on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) compliance, lead times, FDA clearance, and potential leasing options.
